Application Process
When a band member is looking to apply for financial assistance for post-secondary education under either one of our three student support programs the following information is
- First you need to be sure that you are applying to the correct student support program by either calling our office and speaking to our receiptionist or a member of our staff or by emailing one of our staff persons
- the following deadlines for applications are firm and we do not, under any circumstances, accept applications for assistance once these deadlines have past: June 20th - deadline for Fall Enrollment; November 7th - deadline for Winter Enrollment; February 27 - deadline for Spring Enrollment; April 9th - deadline for Summer Enrollment
- applications can be submitted to our office before receiving an "official" letter of acceptance from a post-secondary institution, however, the applicant must have already applied to a post-secondary school and all correspondence must be forwarded to our office once received by the applicant
On the application, the following information must be provided:
- Social Insurance Nnumber
- Complete Mailing Address
- Telephone Number
- Email Address
- Date of Birth
- Band Number
- Name of Post Secondary Institute
- Course Name and Years of Study
- A complete program cost breakdown to include tuition, books, and mandatory fee costs.
If your application is incomplete you will be contacted by a member of our staff. If you fail to provide the requests information the application will be discarded during the review process.
Approval Guidelines
Below are some of the guidelines/priorites we use when reviewing applications for financial assistance:
- Re-enrollments
- Clients coming right out of high school
- Date that the application was received
- Labour Market Research Data
- Program Cost
Please note that all students must submitt an application for funding for each semester that you are completing in your program of studies and an offical transcript from the term in which you have completed must be included with that application. All students must maintain and academic average of 60% or above each semester.
Retraining Policy
The following is a sliding scale of eligibility for individuals who have once received training support from TEDD and are requesting additional financial support for further training. Please note that only individuals that can demonstrate that they were unsuccessful in finding employment for there previous funded career choice will be consider under this policy.

Should a participant previously sponsored be applying for a course in a related field of study within the same year, TEDD may consider the application for funding pending the availability of funds, labour market research and weither or not if one program is a pre-requisite for another.
